The 2009 Entrepreneurs House is located in Oakdale — near 694 and 50th Street North — as part of the Red Oak Preserve.

In August 2007, the Whispering Oaks manufactured home park was officially closed down. The Washington County Housing and Redevelopment Authority, owner of the land, decided to convert it into a mixed-use development with affordable and market-rate homes. A plan was created to turn the 20-acre manufactured home park into a 126-unit mixed-use development.

The new Red Oak Preserve will combine different housing types and price points. It will include townhomes, single-family homes, senior housing, and affordable rental opportunities. Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity is constructing four 5-unit rowhouses. The project began in late fall 2007, and will be completed in 2010. The 20 Habitat for Humanity homes will be available to former Whispering Oaks residents if they’d like to move back, and if they meet certain conditions.
